Get ready to take on Pawdi Gras 2017 as this year’s parade rolls through Belle Chasse with a theme based on the hit cable TV series The Walking Dead! With a theme like The Walking Dog, costumes are certain to be a hit and all who participate will surely have an eye on winning best costume and float awards.
On Saturday, March 4th, The Walking Dog parade – an apocalyptic fundraising event – will require more than just parade floats and event sponsors to be a success. A full cast of zombie-like “Walkers” are needed to round out the event! Registered Walkers, wearing their best Moss Walker or Rick Grimes look-a-like costume will be brandishing throws and seeking blood-curdling screams as they have fun in ways we’ve never seen before. While the dogs and their people will rise up and band together, nothing can prepare them for the all-out good time that Pawdi Gras 2017 offers.
Led by Celebrity Grand Marshall, Angela Hill (radio and TV personality), this favorite West Bank Mardi Gras parade starts at Regions Bank and rolls through Belle Chasse featuring the parade King & Queen and their Royal Court. Individuals wishing to participate can walk their dog in the parade, enter them in the costume contest as well as the King and Queen selection contest. The 2017 Pawdi Gras festivities also include food, adult and child beverages, craft and service vendors.
